Personal Leadership

My work

Explanation

In this example of the learning outcome for Personal Leadership, I will show some examples of how I take the initiative to request and reflect on feedback. I requested feedback on almost all projects and subjects.

Action

Interview questions

In the picture above you can see that we sought feedback for our interview questions made for Woody Veneman. After we received this feedback we changed the order of the questions and refined them.

Stylescape

In the picture above you can see the feedback I asked for on the first stylescape I made. I asked for this feedback because I felt unsure if what I made was correct. After receiving this feedback I understood what the teacher meant and I then created a new stylescape with this feedback in mind.

Target audience struggle

In the picture above, I asked the teacher for advice on how to find the target group for our project because I was struggling with this and my group also didn't know. The advice we got was really useful. It resulted in making a survey and sharing it with fan groups online and people within the target audience age range.

Brand guide

In this feedback instance, I asked for feedback on our brand guide. The main feedback we received was that we needed to make sure our products became cohesive and that we needed to make sure the poster was eye-catching. We went on to do this to the best of our abilities.

Overall portfolio

In the image above you can see that I asked feedback for on my overall portfolio. The feedback I received was very positive. The teacher also gave a lot of suggestions on how I could make my portfolio and documentation even better. After receiving this feedback I felt a lot better about my progress so far. Before I went to the teacher I was slightly stressed but after hearing that the teacher didn't worry about me passing at all I felt very relieved. As for the suggestions, I will try to incorporate them to the best of my abilities.

Code

In the picture above you can see that I sought feedback for my code. The feedback I received made a lot of sense to me, at first I thought that I would start using the new naming convention from then on but later I decided to just rewrite my whole code. After telling the teacher this he encouraged me to do so. This was because practice makes perfect, and I thought so too.

Reflection

Looking back, I realize that I could have asked for more feedback. There were times when I felt like I had nothing to show, so I didn't ask for feedback. In hindsight, I should have shared everything I had, even if it didn't feel like much, just to ensure I was on the right track. This would have greatly improved my overall process. In the future, I plan to ask for more feedback to enhance my overall process.

As for implementing the feedback I receive, I do this most of the time the best I can, if I don't forget it.
