This project was developed as part of a school assignment in collaboration with a classmate. We were given complete creative freedom and chose to create a 2D adventure/puzzle game inspired by Stardew Valley using Godot Engine.

My main contribution to the project was designing and developing two minigames. Since this was my first time working with Godot, it was a valuable challenge that pushed me to quickly learn the engine and its workflow.

The first minigame was a “spot the odd one out” puzzle, while the second focused on assembling objects in the correct way. Developing the assembly minigame turned out to be more technically complex than expected, and due to time constraints I had to rethink my original approach and create an alternative solution that was still fun and fully playable.

This project taught me the importance of adaptability in game development: when an idea doesn't work as planned, finding a practical alternative is often the best way forward.

I also made the intro for this game.

Element design - 2D game

Another key part of this project, I did was creating and styling the environment.

Another major part of my contribution to this project was creating and styling the environment. This mainly involved arranging assets, refining layouts, and continuously iterating on the overall look and feel of the game world to make it visually cohesive and engaging.

I especially enjoyed this aspect of the project because it allowed me to focus on the creative and visual design side of game development. Working on the environment design helped me develop a better understanding of composition, atmosphere, and how visual details can enhance the player experience.

Element design - board game

For another project during my game design semester, I was responsible for creating the visual style of both the playing cards and the game board. My focus was on developing a cohesive and appealing design that matched the theme and enhanced the overall player experience.

My main focus was designing the playing cards. I put a lot of effort into creating a consistent visual style across all card types, ensuring they felt unified while still clearly communicating their differences. I particularly enjoyed this process because it allowed me to focus on small details that, together, significantly improved the overall look and quality of the cards.

I also tried to extend the visual style into the game's rulebook. However, the cover art created by one of my team members was so strong that it slightly overpowered the rest of the design direction. Even so, we chose to keep it, as it was a high-quality piece that added a lot of value to the overall presentation.
